Full Review

The Belk Rewards Mastercard® is a simple store credit card that offers almost everything you’d expect from a standard store card. You’ll enjoy up to 20% off on purchases the day you open your card account, 3% back on Belk and Belk.com purchases, 2% back on eligible gas and grocery purchases and 1% back everywhere else, and a welcome offer of points after you make your first Belk purchase with your card.

Pretty standard stuff as far as store cards go, though the initial discount for opening your account offers some interesting opportunities for big savings. The biggest downside to this card is the brand and mediocre earning rate.

Belk isn’t exactly the largest retailer out there (my attempts at finding a local store seemed to place most of them in Texas). That means for most consumers, the only option to use this card will be through the Belk website.

But at a rather average 3% earning rate, there are other store cards you can use for online purchases that offer better earning potential, such as the Target REDcard™ or Walmart’s latest offering. And of course, you’ll actually be able to find those stores at your local shopping center.
